Hello there, dear reader! We're excited to share some news with you today. We'll be showcasing the Helix Markets roadmap. Before we dive into it, let’s see where we are at right now and share an update with you.
We started to build Helix Market as a decentralized exchange, completely reimagined with ownership, transparency, and cross-chain trading as the core of the product. We launched our website and Twitter in early December 2022 and we have already come a long way in building a new marketplace from scratch. Helix Markets will be like no other DEX where high-speed trading is enabled and liquidity is native on each chain. We have redefined the core infrastructure by building on top of Dfinity’s Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) which allows traders to remain in control of their assets at all times and removes the need for aggregators, liquidity pools, or bridges.
Recap
To summarize thousands of working hours building Helix Markets in a few lines, the following key points highlight aspects of what we have built so far:
- We have built smart contracts that facilitate the efficient management of funding and reconciliation, thus ensuring seamless transactions. We believe that this development is one of the critical components that will make Helix Markets the best decentralized exchange for cryptocurrencies for all top blockchain networks, including Ethereum.
- Secondly, we have integrated native trading for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and all Ethereum VM-based chains. This is an achievement in itself, and we're excited to continue pushing the boundaries by integrating with other blockchain networks and protocols.
- Thirdly, our team has developed a lightning-fast matching engine and Websocket API that is capable of handling up to 100,000 transactions per second. This feature will be a game-changer for traders to execute trades and swap tokens from different chains at unprecedented speeds overcoming the difficulties in existing DEXes and aggregators.
- Finally, our frontend UI is designed to be simple to use and navigate, making it accessible to everyone regardless of their technical expertise. We believe that this accessibility is crucial to the widespread adoption of blockchain technology and will continue to work towards this goal.
Roadmap
Every phase is a new milestone and we have three different milestones to achieve, before the fourth milestone, where Helix Markets DEX will be live and accessible by anyone, worldwide with an internet connection.
Milestone 1: Alpha launch
An Alpha version is set to launch by the end of April 2023. This initial version of Helix Markets will feature a core set of trading features that will be thoroughly tested for functionality. Our team is hard at work to ensure that we deliver a product that meets our high standards and that our early users can rely on.
The alpha version features:
- ICP, ICRC-1, Native BTC, and ETH/ERC 20 tokens
- Multi-chain deposits and withdrawals
- User profiles
- Programmatic trading via our WebSocket API
We understand that a lot of people are eager to get their hands on the application. We welcome community members to enroll as alpha testers to test the app in and out, and provide actionable feedback we can use to refine and improve the product. Alpha testers can communicate with our community and team on our recently launched Discord community, and provide us feedback that will help us make the experience top-notch.
Milestone 2: Beta launch
A Beta launch is set towards the end of Q2 or the beginning of Q3 2023. This milestone will bring a fully-featured version of Helix Markets that will be available to a wider group of beta testers.
The beta launch will feature an improved version based on the collected feedback from alpha testers, including bug fixes, UI/UX improvements, additional integrations, and several other changes that will be disclosed later on our social channels.
We're excited to see what you all think and welcome any feedback that will help us improve the product.
Milestone 3: Go-Live
We aim to go live in the middle of Q4 2023. This is where we'll be putting the finishing touches on Helix Markets, stress testing, and making sure that everything is running perfectly before we go live. We're excited to see our hard work come to fruition, and we're confident that our users will love Helix Markets as much as we love building it.
Prior to the launch, we will offer a Release Candidate. This is where we'll be presenting the fully-featured version of Helix including Merkle proof of reserves (PoR) which will be fully audited. All code audits will be made public for the community to review, so you can be assured that we're being transparent and accountable.
We believe that this milestone will truly showcase what Helix Markets has to offer and that our users will be impressed with the quality of our product🤞. However, this is only laying a strong foundation for an upcoming giant skyscraper of a DEX that will solve the shortcomings of the present DeFi system.
Milestone 4: A fully functional, decentralized DEX
We are committed to incorporating multi-chain and DeFi integrations, which will enable us to provide advanced features such as derivatives, cross-margin trading, and NFT trading for various chains, thereby elevating the user experience to a whole new level. We aim to decentralize the matching engine in due course before the end of 2024.
Bonus: Optimized mobile version
We are going to make it easy for our users to access a platform where there will be a daily trading volume worth millions of dollars at their fingertips. We will launch a mobile web version of Helix Markets that is optimized for use on smartphones and tablets by the end of September 2023.
Feedback, bug bounties, and rewards
Prior to the platform's official launch, Helix Market will undergo rigorous testing to ensure that it is fully operational and meets the high standards that we have set internally. The testing process will include comprehensive bug bounties, thorough penetration testing, and intensive load and latency testing. By conducting these tests, we aim to provide a seamless and secure user experience to the trading community upon launch. Although the current roadmap is very focused on shipping the product, there will be many other activities that we will be running together with our community across the globe.
