Funding and Trading Wallets

How do Funding and Trading wallets work

Understanding the Difference Between Your Funding and Trading Wallet on Helix Markets

Our users have access to two distinct types of wallets: the Funding Wallet and the Trading Wallet. It's important to understand the differences between these two wallets to manage your assets effectively and make the most of your trading experience.

Funding Wallet: Your Gateway for Deposits and Withdrawals

The Funding Wallet is your primary wallet for depositing and withdrawing tokens on Helix Markets. Here's what you need to know:

  • Deposits: This is the wallet to which you can deposit tokens from external sources.
  • Withdrawals: When you want to withdraw tokens, you will transfer them from your Funding Wallet to an external wallet.
  • Security Focused: The Funding Wallet is designed with security in mind, providing a safe place to store your tokens when they're not actively being traded.

Key Points:

  • The Funding Wallet is not for trading.
  • It's used exclusively for depositing into and withdrawing from your Helix Markets account.

Trading Wallet: Your Tool for Active Trading

The Trading Wallet is specifically designed for buying, selling, and exchanging tokens on Helix Markets. Here are its primary functions:

  • Exchanging Tokens: Use the Trading Wallet to participate in the exchange of tokens for other tokens.
  • Trading-Only: Only tokens that are in your Trading Wallet can be used for trading. If your tokens are in the Funding Wallet, they cannot be traded until transferred to the Trading Wallet.

Key Points:

  • The Trading Wallet is solely for trading activities on the platform.
  • You must transfer tokens from your Funding Wallet to your Trading Wallet to use them for trading.

Transferring Between Wallets

  • Simple Transfers: You can easily transfer tokens between your Funding and Trading Wallets within the Helix Markets platform.
  • No Trading from Funding Wallet: Remember, you cannot trade tokens that are still in your Funding Wallet. They must first be moved to your Trading Wallet.
